Senior Video Editor & Technical Manager
SKY TV - SKY SPORTS NEWS - Osterley and Wilmslow

One of the original Video Editors for the channel at SKY STUDIOS in Osterley. Senior Team Leader for an editing crew of 5 people. Editing all high-quality output for the channel's live output. Developed skills to work to strict transmission times in a highly charged live newsroom environment. Responsible for training staff on new technologies moving away from videotape to digital media. Obtained an excellence award for skills in working with alternative media.
In 2009 transferred to Sky's Bureau at Wilmslow. Responsible for all ingest, studio output & editing for the NW region. Working with production crews to edit production content for the channel. Also managed the bureau's live output as well as day to day technical matters. Implemented & trained staff on new-state of the art HD IT systems, supervising and developing new work-flows to assist in the transition to digital media over the internet.
Also responsible for training of new staff including former radio/press professionals and work experience programs for young people.
Due to financial cut-backs, new work flows and new field based working practices my position was made redundant in January 2017.

Responsible of all aspects of running a small media production company. From admin duties including planning, book-keeping and accounts, through to all aspects of media production. The business owned and operated a 5 camera Outside Broadcast Vehicle. Commissioned to produce many types of production for broadcast and non-broadcast use. Clients included Central TV (Police 5). Hogg Robinson, Pickfords Travel, Thomas Cook (In-Store TV), Home Office (Training for Rest Centres & First Aid Posts). ScreenSport (Early Satellite TV) and numerous other commercial clients. Developed IT skills with early use of the Internet.
